I had fun during my class. We discussed our hobbies, we went over the grammar in one of my messages I sent before class, and I learned how to say the phrase "It's all Greek to me." in Japanese. In Japanese, it's ちんぷんかんぷん．Then, we decided what will we do for next time. (We will sing karaoke in Japanese).

Today we went over my homework for Genki 1 Chapter 8, talked about other foreign languages I would like to learn in the future (far future), and talked about potential forms and potential verbs in Japanese. I believe that is covered at the end of Genki 1 or the beginning of Genki 2. Once again, さゆり先生, was very patient with me. My homework is to write sentences using the constructions of (verb: dictionary form) + ことができる and (verb: potential form). I will write 5 sentences each, and each sentence from each type of construction will have the same meaning.

Today was my first Japanese class in about five months. We reviewed today. I also talked about a graded reader I read, which told us about Hokkaido. And, we talked about a Thai restaurant I went to last week with my mom. My homework is to write as many ない (negative) form sentences as I want/can. I had a lot of fun during the class.
I'm an experienced and qualified Japanese teacher.
